IMPORTANT CHANGE TO START OF SATURDAY MYBURGHS WATERFALL RAVINE RUN (REPEAT FROM TUESDAY)

For all other details check out: http://vobtrail.blogspot.com/ .
The Table Mountain Trailers sortie is also on. 06h30 at Kirstenbosch Rycroft Gate (also known, to VOB runners, as Top Tap or Top Gate). For all other details check out: http://vobtrailwrg.blogspot.com/
SATURDAY WEATHER FORECAST thanks to www.yr.no
Nice pleasant morning. Don’t forget to bring water. Constant “breeze” so a windbreaker will be a thoroughly good idea.
SUNDAY TRAINING RUN – 29 JANUARY 2012
MATES BAT RUN TRAINING RUN
“It is time to start training for Bat Run! For the next couple of weeks we will be focussing on ups and downs of Devil’s Peak, Platties and Maclears, and even if you are not thinking of doing the actual race (why, I don’t know) this sort of training will be exactly what you need to get rid of those final dregs of all that Xmas pud that is still lingering in your system. And you get familiar enough with the route that you can do it at night. Without ending up in Newlands.
Where: Kloofnek Parking: As you drive up Kloofnek and turn left into Tafelberg Road, turn left into the second parking area where they TMNP information hokkie is.
When: 06h30 start.
What: Bring water, snax, weather appropriate kit. And ICE cold beer for afterwards.
Route: From Kloofnek along Tafelberg Road (t*r) to bottom of Devil’s Peak. Along the way, you can do the Royal Wave at your roady buddies doing Kloofnek Challenge coming the other way while you coolly stride along in your trail kit. Up the zig zags, up Devil’s Peak, down to Tafelberg Road. A bit more t*r, then up Platties (maybe even all the way to Maclears), down and some more t*r to Kloofnek. The beauty of this route is that you can customise it to suit your fitness – if Devil’s kills you, then slope along Tafelberg Road back to the car park.
Duration and distance: The distance is rather insignificant, Devil’s Peak should take about 2 – 3 hours and the whole thing maybe up to 4 - 5 hours.
Seeya!
